Trauma treatment
I specialize in treating trauma using the latest research in the field of neurobiology and a myriad of treatment modalities which I tailor to the individual's needs and history of traumatic experiences. Specific traumas treated: COVID-19, childhood physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect, sexual assault, military trauma, intimate partner violence, chronic illness, bullying, grief and loss, traumatic birth, terrorism, and community violence.
Infertility
Approximately 15% of couples face infertility.
Managing the emotional, physical, and spiritual distress of infertility can be filled with worry, sadness and loss. I work with individuals and couples in all stages of their infertility journey. Those who may be preparing for or undergoing Assisted-Reproductive Treatment (IUI, IVF), third party reproduction (sperm/egg donors), surrogacy, pregnancy loss, and the potential loss of reaching their family goals.
Pregnancy and Early Parenthood
As a Perinatal Mental Health Certified therapist, I know that emotional wellness during pregnancy and postpartum is extremely important. Having a new baby can cause overwhelming stress and shifts in the family and partner dynamic. Addressing these issues head on can make for a more supportive and present focused family.
Eating Disorders
As a Certified Eating Disorder Therapist, I understand that eating disorders have a biological, psychological and sociocultural component and can manifest as a way to manage underlying anxiety, depression, trauma and distressing emotions. Learning skills and finding healthier ways to cope and connect is key to disrupting the cycle of disordered eating.
Evidenced-Based Treatment
I have experience with the following modalities: EMDR, Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based modalities, and Seeking Safety.
Interventions
I utilize EMDR, situational and imaginal exposures, interoceptive exercises, narrative work, mindfulness practice and skills-based exercises with on-going coping skills to build tolerance in order to minimize distress.
Sessions
I provide 50-minute individual sessions and 60-minute family sessions. I also offer phone and video-based therapy to meet client needs. Click here to contact me.
